On June 10, 2025, Canon Inc. announced that two of its RF lenses for 3D VR video, the RF5.2mm F2.8 L DUAL FISHEYE (released in December 2021) and the RF‑S3.9mm F3.5 STM DUAL FISHEYE (released in June 2024), will be compatible with the “Apple Projected Media Profile” (APMP).

APMP is a QuickTime movie profile that will be supported by visionOS 26, set to launch in the second half of 2025. Specifically, footage shot with these Canon lenses and compatible cameras can be converted to the "APMP" format using the EOS VR Utility 2 application, allowing users to more easily enjoy an immersive experience with Apple Vision Pro.

Canon also announced that by updating EOS VR Utility, the RF-S7.8mm F4 STM DUAL, when used with Canon mirrorless cameras EOS R7 (launched in June 2022) and EOS R50 V (launched in May 2025), can shoot not only "spatial videos" but also "spatial photos". A "spatial photo" is a 3D image that allows users to experience a sense of depth in the form of a still image. In addition, the EOS R50 (launched in March 2023) will also become compatible with the EOS VR system via a firmware update in mid-July 2025, thereby supporting both "spatial videos" and "spatial photos".
