JD.com ushers in the "3D Information Flow Era" with the launch of autostereoscopic 3D ads, smart home configurator, and 3D live streaming

During this year's JD 618, JD's XR Innovation Team applied innovative 3D content products—including "JD Liying - Autostereoscopic 3D Ads", the 3D smart home matching tool "Liying - Home Styling", and "Liying - 3D Live Streaming"—to multiple categories and scenarios. JD took the lead in ushering in the "3D Information Flow Era" in the industry, bringing users a brand-new experience.


It is reported that without wearing glasses or using other auxiliary devices, consumers can see stereoscopic visual effects of products popping off the screen and displayed in 360 degrees when opening the JD APP on their mobile phones. From the display of part details of 3C products and home appliances, the presentation of the luster and texture of beauty product bottles, and the show of nutritional ingredients of supermarket products, to full-sensory interactions such as lipstick color testing, home appliance placement simulation, headphone audition, and shaver vibration simulation—all these make shopping as vivid and engaging as playing a game.



Currently, Liying has collaborated with JD's New Product Launch and Super Brand Day to roll out new effects with numerous top-tier brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, DJI, LA MER, DIOR, Hisense, and Yili, covering fields such as 3C digital products, home appliances, fashion, and FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods). Data shows that after adopting autostereoscopic 3D ads, SK-II's brand click-through rate increased by 60%; Huawei headphones saw a 37% rise in sales conversion driven by 3D ads; and the order conversion rates for users who used AR makeup trials and AR placement simulations reached 24% and 27% respectively, significantly higher than the original levels.


During this year's JD 618, JD also launched 3D live streaming rooms for the first time. Merchants can freely showcase product highlights, while users can switch perspectives to view product details in 360 degrees. For example, the interactive rate of the first batch of home appliance and furniture procurement live streaming rooms on JD's 3D platform increased by over 20%, and the average user stay time rose by more than 50%, significantly outperforming regular live streams. During this year's 618, Liying-3D Live Streaming also co-created a 3D live streaming special for gaming rooms with brands such as Hualing, HKC, and Haier, as well as a 3D live streaming special for kitchen and bathroom products with brands including Robam, Fotile, and Casarte—marking JD's first batch of scenario-based 3D live streams for promotional events.


A responsible person from JD's XR Innovation Team stated that 3D technology can provide more realistic visual presentation and more immersive interactive experiences, enabling consumers to "get what they see". It helps brands establish deeper connections with users, and "3D information flow" will become an important carrier for the next generation of content formats.
