The professional photogrammetry tool "RealityCapture" has been renamed "RealityScan" and released as the latest version, RealityScan 2.0. Its mobile application has also been renamed "RealityScan Mobile". This is a photogrammetry/3D scanning software for Windows systems, capable of creating realistic 3D models from photos or laser scanning data.

The newly launched RealityScan 2.0 has made significant progress in accelerating and automating workflows. It adds an AI-based masking feature (which can automatically remove image backgrounds), greatly reducing the workload of manual editing. In addition, by improving the alignment function that integrates captured data and creates 3D models in a consistent state, the quality of the models has been further stabilized.

This update also supports LiDAR data. By combining images obtained from the air, LiDAR information, and ground data, the creation of high-precision maps and 3D models can be achieved.

A quality analysis tool has also been implemented, allowing users to identify deficiencies in scan results in advance. It checks data integrity before mesh creation, or visually evaluates improvements to textures and PBR (Physically Based Rendering—a material rendering technique that mimics real-world appearance).

The paid subscription model has also been adjusted: starting with "RealityScan 2.0", individuals or enterprises with annual revenue exceeding $1 million are required to subscribe to the paid service. However, students, educators, enterprises, and individuals with annual revenue below $1 million can continue to use it for free.
