Dobot, a Shenzhen-based intelligent robotics company, released a real-time video on July 4 demonstrating the "telexistence" capability of its humanoid robot Atom. An engineer in Shenzhen precisely controlled Atom located in Shandong over a distance of approximately 1,800 kilometers.

The operator wore an Apple Vision Pro to obtain the robot's view, using natural hand grasping and gestures in the virtual space. All head and hand movements were captured and mapped in real time to Atom with millimeter-level accuracy. Atom, featuring 11 degrees of freedom per hand, performed tasks such as seasoning, picking up food, and cooking a steak with a claimed precision of ±0.05 mm.
